The Simulators

Altitude have five fixed base simulators, a Boeing B737 and four McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornets.

The B737 has an impressive three projector high definition wrap-around display, providing an immersive 220 degree visual experience. While the F/A-18 Hornets visual setups are based around individual single projector units. Although the B737 visuals are not collimated, this is very normal within the industry.

In terms of the flight control loading mechanism, this again is the industry norm spring-loaded system.

The Venue

Altitude is conveniently located just off 32 Ave NE in Calgary, with public transport not far away and off-street parking is provided on-site. For example, if arriving from Calgary International Airport (IATA: YYC, ICAO: CYYC), Altitude is just a 15 minute or so Uber drive away. While you or your guests are waiting there is a visitors viewing area at the venue. And although we haven’t visited yet, from the vidoes and photos we have seen the entrance/welcome area is most impressive – a lot of thought has gone into their venue layout.
